On Monday, we have one of the most significant aspects of the last 2 years make its 4th opposition in the heavens. Although Saturn and Uranus will oppose again in the signs of Aries and Libra, this is the last opposition that will occur in the signs of Virgo and Pisces. When these two planets dance in the heavens they usually bring forth changes that can be seen on the public stage, and bring forth a feeling of revolt (or at least a sense of dissent) from the present world order.

Saturn and Uranus are opposing energies naturally. Saturn is our need to have structures, boundaries, rules and regulations; whereas Uranus involves breaking free from those existing structures, being unique, and more individual. When these two planets are brought together, Uranus tends to attempt to overthrow the status quo and Saturn attempts to hold on for dear life digging in, and attempts to withstand the assault from Uranus. You can feel this particular energy in your own life as a feeling that outside forces are obstructing you and a feeling of being oppressed by ordinary circumstances. Today, is a great day for analyzing where our structures are too sturdy, and where we can bring change into our lives? Any area of our lives (whether career, work, or money) that we feel restricted, stymied, or tethered should be analyzed. Understanding the issues in our lives is the first step to resolving them. Change is coming! Are you prepared?

In ancient astrology, Saturn is referred to as a dark omen, evil, and reflective of the devil’s dominion over earthly life.  Saturn’s rulership over laws, boundaries, and limits subjects human being to a more sober reality of responsibilities and the necessity to forge our own path in the world.  Although these restrictions imposed upon us are perceived as threatening to our individual freedoms, and a times depressing, Saturn gives us the gift of self-sufficiency and points to the work that needs to be done in our lives.

On October 29, 2009 Saturn moved out of industrious Virgo, and into the sign of Libra.  Libra is the sign most associated with relationships and partnerships.   Dena DeCastro recently appeared on my radio show and put together a small information package on Saturn.   I am sharing that with you here to help assist you in understanding this 2 1/2 year transit.
