On Friday, Jupiter in Pisces will quincunx Saturn in Libra. There is a natural disharmony between these two planets. Jupiter in astrology is the great benefic and Saturn in astrology is the great malefic, which has much to do with world view as it does planetary tastes. Jupiter views the world in an opportunistic way in which all potentials and possibilities are available if you believe in yourself enough. Jupiter is the stuff that makes self help books, seminars and cosmic weather forecasts popular! Saturn, on the other hand reflects the tried and true methods that have stood up test of time and are only gained through hard work and effort. However, both of these planets are very concerned with the future – the possibilities and the foundation of real structures. The signs in this case are where the tension occurs. Libra is concerned with intellectual pursuits, ideas, and concepts and Pisces is concerned with connection, emotions, and being a part of a larger collective, which brings out the tension involved in this combination. Jupiter wants to expand and Saturn wants to restrict, so there is an innate tug of war struggle between the two of them. This is a great time for us to review where we may be either too optimistic or to limiting and try to find some form of balance between the two of them. A quincunx often creates circumstances where there is no middle ground between the two of them, and often it requires us to just accept the incompatibilities and learn to live with both energies. Regardless, exploring our world view and our perceptions about life are the order of the day.
