Cosmic Weather Forecast — January 15, 2010

We have a powerful solar eclipse to start off the weekend in the sign of Capricorn. Although eclipses tend to show up with extreme power and force on the world stage (Haiti, NBC Late Night Drama), they tend to be triggers for other planetary movements, transits, and progressions and can be active for as long as 6 months. Whenever we have transits in sign of Capricorn issues surrounding status, our position in the world, structure (government and personal) and unwavering determination rise to the surface and tend to force us to deal with the issues inherent within the sign. Solar Eclipses are powerful New Moons, and like all New Moons they signify the end of something, and the beginning of something else based on the house that the lunation falls in and the planets it aspects. Take some time today, to review your life today, and ask yourself what needs to come to an end in your life, and what you would like to begin. On some level, the birth of something new is inevitable whether or not we are willing to let go of the old and embrace the changes is up to us.

On a more positive note, the planet Mercury will go from retrograde to direct on Friday. This should ease some of the communication issues that have been occurring over the past several weeks. Although there will be improvement, Mercury does not go out of shadow until the beginning of February. This gives us ample opportunity to resolve any issues that may have come up over the past few weeks.
