Cosmic Weather Forecast — January 8, 2010
In the early morning hours the Moon will move out of harmonious Libra, and into the battlefield known as Scorpio. The Scorpio Moon craves intensity, and can often provoke the most sober of folks to enter into crisis mode. This is a great day to strategize, as Scorpio tends to bring out the detective and battle warrior in us. However, we must learn to choose what battles to fight, which dragons to slay, and to realize that walking away often wins the war.
There is a planetary aspect between Venus in Capricorn and Mars in Leo on Friday. The signs of Capricorn and Leo have very little in common. Capricorn is concerned with our social standing, reputation, and achievements; whereas Leo is concerned with individuality and being original. Although Venus and Mars the two relationship planets, normally get a long even in hard aspects, the quincunx between these two planets can be the most difficult. Venus in Capricorn places the Goddess of Love in the position of achievement and the need for popularity and social standing. Mars, on the other hand, in the sign of Leo wants the stage for himself but for creative and individual purposes. This creates a difficult relationship between the two, and both need to learn how to share the stage, and understand that they both have a right to be there. We can use this energy in a positive way to learn how we can stay true to ourselves but share equal footing with others. In mythology, Aphrodite (Venus) and Aries (Mars) have a daughter, whose name is Harmonia, which is the experience we can have when we share ourselves truly and openly with others in all areas of our lives.
